But still, some of them are not exactly appropriate for showing everyone on your morning commute, and there isn't an immediate way on the app to scroll past or pause them. Fortunately, while you can't just scroll past Canvases, you to have the option to disable them completely. In fact, Gadget Hacks explains how you can quickly do this in just a few steps. This stops the Canvas feature, but at the same time, it also puts your music quality at a lower level, which is how it saves data. So, it's ultimately not the same as turning the feature off entirely. Also worth noting? Lifehacker points out that Spotify says Canvas is already optimized to suck up very little data and battery life. So, switching to the data-saving mode might be kind of pointless.
